I found this Praying Mantis on the bank of creek early morning around 4:30 am. I was able to gently place the branch he was on and place it in my magic hand clamp to keep it still and just let the Mantis do what they do. He moved around a lot I managed some good compositions but the background was totally black. I placed a background card that I held with one hand and shot the images handholding the camera. I also noticed that he was injured his eye was punched in maybe from a predator or he was the predator. He did stop just long enough in this pose where I was able to stack 8 images. I like his stance as it looks like he had a rough night but he lives to see another day. After the images I gently unclamped the branch and let him finish the night. I used an Olympus Om 1 mkii with a 90mm macro and a Godox v865 with a cygnustech diffuser. Stacked the images in zerene stacker and edited making basic global adjustments in Lightroom.
