This is an image I took for an architect client of mine. He completely renovated this house. This is the kitchen, obviously.
I used a Godox ad300 pro with a softbox to light this. I did several flash shots shooting the flash from outside through the kitchen window. I did a couple more from camera back left to light the stools and island a little more.
To put this together I did some minor basic adjustments to all of the photos in lightroom. Then brought them all into photoshop. Probably 5-8 photos in total. I don't remember. I used one of the frames with the flash from outside the window as my base layer. I used a few more of the outside flash frames to paint in some more light and shadows using masking and a brush on a low opacity. I left those frames on normal mode because I wanted to paint in the light and shadows from them.
For the frames lighting the stools and island I put them on lighten mode and again painted in the amount of light I wanted using a brush on a low opacity and masking.
For the final step I used a bright ambient frame on luminosity mode at about 30-40% opacity just to add some luminance. I also used masking to paint in the luminance where I wanted it.
That was basically it. After it was all blended together I did a little bit of distraction removal and I always like just slightly adjust the levels in photoshop.
