This photograph combines an old school building with celestial motion. The star trails were created by stacking 152 13-second exposures. The aperture was f/2.8, and the ISO was 100. The camera was Canon EOS R6m2, the lens was RF16mm F2.8 STM. The camera intervalometer was set to take two exposures/minute. The camera/lens was mounted on a tripod.
To create the circular motion blur, I have to be shooting to the north. I positioned the camera so the top of the steeple aligned with Polaris, which is the center of the star trail circle.
The biggest challenge was the headlights from cars coming from an almost perpendicular road. I had to edit individual images because the school was overexposed in those images.
I am glad I got the image when I did, because since I got this image, a housing development was added behind the school.

How lucky you've gotta be to come across a building that allows facing the front while aligning it with the celestial north 🤩
