As the bride & groom stood at the altar of a beautiful Greek Church, I was envisioning a way to emphasize the couple, the architecture, and the veil all at once. When a small beam of sunlight came through one of the windows, I decided to switch to my wide-angle lens and create a double exposure.
After several attempts, I captured the image I had imagined — and then added a second layer of motion by twisting the camera during a slow shutter exposure. The movement created the illusion of the dress dancing in the wind, even though we were standing inside the stillness of the church. A moment created with a little patience, experimentation, and a lot of trust in the process.
