The São Paulo Pride Parade, held each June during Pride Month, is officially recognized as the largest Pride parade in the world, regularly drawing between three and five million participants and spectators. It's an extraordinary celebration of diversity, featuring live performers, music, and passionate advocacy for LGBTQ+ rights and visibility.
By the time I took this photograph, dusk had settled over the city and the parade was beginning to wind down. Amid the noise, lights, and constant movement, one of the dancers paused for just a fleeting moment. She locked eyes with my camera, flashed a knowing smirk, and then disappeared back into the crowd.
Those brief, unplanned moments are often the most memorable. Street photography isn't just about documenting an event—it's about capturing a genuine human connection that exists for only a fraction of a second.
