Puzzle. A selection from my ongoing project, Barkscapes. This monochromatic study was captured at the Edith L. Moore Nature Sanctuary in Houston, Texas. Stripping away the color shifts the entire focus to the raw geometry of the trunk, where the deeply furrowed fissures split the surface into interlocking, puzzle-like plates.
