Photographed this at a local waterfall near Dayton, Ohio. This was a just a "fun" photo shoot that I organized with some friends. We had a few different photographers and a few different models.

I've always loved the way strobe lighting interacts with and freezes moving water, so my goal was to have an opportunity to play around with the water in the falls by using it as a backdrop for the portraits.

The biggest challenge was the spraying water. I just made sure to put my speedlights in ziploc bags to keep them safe from the splashing.

Camera was a Sony A7II with Tamron 35mm lens

For lighting, I used a speedlight in a 24" softbox for the key, and another speedlight with a red gel was used camera right to shoot across the waterfall.

Very minimal editing. This is basically straight out of camera.
