Battle of the Action Cameras: GoPro 11 Versus DJI Osmo Action 3

Action cameras went from being a niche piece of kit used when skiing, for example, to being a staple camera in many photographers' bags. There are lots of options for action cameras now, so which is the best bet?

My first experience with an action camera was, incidentally, when skiing with a friend. I had no call for one in my camera bag, however much I wanted one, and so I was curious to see what it could produce. This was over a decade ago and even then, it was impressive. Now, we have some incredible results out of these little bodies and so it's always interesting to compare the current offerings. In this video, we see the GoPro 11 pitted against the DJI Osmo Action 3.

I don't want to encroach on what Peter Lindgren has to say, but I will give my own thoughts. Although it's worth noting that the cameras were on auto settings and it might be possible to get more out of them manually, this is a perfectly fair test, and I think the results are one sides. I love DJI as a company and their drones are my go-to, but the GoPro 11 annihilated the Osmo Action 3 in more or less every test here.

Also, as an aside, just a quick high-five to Peter Lindgren for 3D printing a rig to do a side-by-side comparison of the image quality of these two cameras; that really is above and beyond for a YouTube video!

Which did you think performed better?
