A few years ago, I tried my hand at daily vlogging my time through Alaska while living on the road. In doing so, I had to move away from trying to film everything on one of my mirrorless cameras, mostly the Fuji X-T4 that I had at the time. Thus, I found myself filming on my phone most of the time, simply because I needed to focus on telling stories about what I was doing rather than taking the extra time to continually use a large camera. I just needed something that was quick, easy, and convenient. At the time, that was my iPhone 13 Pro.
Since then, I've wanted a camera that fit the level of convenience a phone has, but didn't suffer from all the sacrifices you have to make for such convenience. Thus, when the DJI Osmo Pocket 3 was released, there was a chance that I could finally film at a quality level I wanted with the convenience of something like a phone.
In this video, I detail my experience with the DJI Pocket 3 over the last six months of creating vlog style videos on my channel. I even use it as a b-cam next to my much more expensive Canon R5 and Canon R7 for doing stationary work. This camera has changed how I create, and no words can describe what you'll see in the video to detail exactly how it has done that.
Kudos, a very good presentation...it seems Patagonia is unique and very high up on the list of nature photographers...I bought my DJI Pocket 3 recently and will certainly do a lot of experimenting, but my one and only gripe so far is that the next version will need to be better weather sealed to at least be able to walk in the rain. I looked at your portfolio, and must say excellent photography from you.
