Elinchrom Updates Its Skyport HS to Support Panasonic Cameras

Only two months after it was released, the Elinchrom Skyport HS for Olympus is getting an update and now supports Panasonic cameras. It still does not support Fujifilm, but it seems like the Swiss flash manufacturer is heading in the right direction by adding more devices to its supported cameras list.

Most of Panasonic's cameras that professional and enthusiast photographers or videographers would be interested in, including the G7, GX85, GX8, GH4, LX100, FZ300, and FZ1000, are now compatible. The proud owners of one these models will now be able to experience the joy of Hi-Sync and pushing their x-sync to the limits. For those that cannot find their precious camera on the official list, there is always the possibility of using the Skyport Transmitter Plus.

To update your Skyport HS for Olympus, visit Elinchrom's website and download the Elinchrom Updater Software. The update is quite straight-forward and should not take more than a few minutes of your time. If you are a Nikon, Canon, or Sony user, be sure to check that you have the last firmware version as well. If you are one the early buyers, you could probably update your Skyport HS and your ELB400 to take advantage of other firmware updates released since these products' initial launches.

Canon, Nikon, Sony, Olympus and Panasonic.... Fuji what's going on? Fuji's fault? It stop me to fully migrate to Fuji.

I left Elinchrom partly based upon a rumor that Profoto would release an Olympus HSS trigger. That has yet to happen, but I'm glad to see some of the big third party strobe makers recognizing camera brands other than the big two.
