The new GoPro HERO9 is bigger and better than ever before.
Today, GoPro announced the HERO9 Black which is their latest take on the go-anywhere action camera. This time, it packs a 23.6-megapixel sensor for shooting 20-megapixel raw stills and records up to 5K30p video. There’s also a front-facing 1.4-inch screen for monitoring yourself in front of the camera as well as a larger 2.27-inch rear screen. Inside the bigger camera chassis is a new 1,720 mAh battery that GoPro claims lasts 30 percent longer. Previous GoPro batteries are not compatible, and because of the larger body size, some accessories like the HERO8 Media Mod will no longer fit.
The GoPro HERO9 is waterproof up to 33 feet without external housing, and features updated HyperSmooth 3.0 for improved stability and TimeWarp 3.0 which now features speed ramping. Other familiar features include live-streaming, night-lapse, digital lenses, voice control, SuperPhoto + HDR, and in-camera automatic horizon leveling. The camera still uses microSD memory cards and has a USB-C port for charging and transferring files.

The GoPro HERO9 Black is priced at $449.99 and is available now.
Yeah, no one cares. lol
Yay, they brought back the replaceable lens cover! Dumb move on the Hero 8.
Stabilization at 4k is not as good as on the 8.
I'm curious which Sony camera they used for the promo. In reality it looks like a cheap webcam outside even when they show it like they normally do, in perfect outside lighting. At this point you're better off duct taping your phone to your helmet.
I have a hard time understanding the need for the double intro on a video like this. There are 3 minutes spent on telling us what this video will be about....and then at 2:50, we get ANOTHER explanation of what the video will be about. Why not just start the video at that 2:50 mark. I always skip the first 2 minutes of any camera video video on You Tube for this reason, but in this case, 2 minutes wasn’t even enough.
