Lensbaby Composer Pro II With Edge 35 Optic Announced

Today, Lensbaby unveiled a new optic for their Composer Pro II, giving a wider field of view while retaining the unique slice-of-focus look these lenses are known for.

The new Edge 35 Optic is latest release for Lensbaby's Optic Swap system, joining the Edge 50. Compatible with full-frame cameras, crop sensors, and Micro Four Thirds, the new lens offers a variety of looks depending on the system you shoot. Full frame owners will have a wide-angle true 35mm, APS-C cameras will have an effective 50mm, and Micro Four Thirds will get a portrait-friendly 70mm equivalent.

The Edge 35 is constructed with nine elements in six groups, with each glass elements multi coated for flare and ghosting suppression. There are eight aperture blades which can be manually adjusted from f/3.5 to f/22, and the lens can close focus to 7 inches for a 1:5 reproduction ratio.

The unique tilting mechanism of the Lensbaby Composer Pro II allows the user to create dramatic focusing effects, or set it to have no tilt and shoot like it's a regular lens.

If you already own the Lensbaby Composer Pro II, purchasing the Edge 35 Optic add-on will cost $249.95. Pricing for the Lensbaby Composer Pro II with Edge 35 Optic together is priced at $449.95 and is available for Canon EF, Nikon F, Sony E, Fujifilm X, and Micro Four Thirds lens mounts.

It's a cheap way to play with the TS effect. Well... "cheap" is a relative term here.
