LensRental's First Impressions of the Sigma 35mm f/1.4: "New World Order"

LensRental's First Impressions of the Sigma 35mm f/1.4: "New World Order"

Roger Cicala of LensRentals (who really likes to be the first person to get something up whenever new tech hits his store) has published his initial feelings on the new Sigma 35mm f/1.4. The good news for me is that all of you who have called me a "Sigma fanboy" have one more person to lump into that group. To quote, it's the beginning of a "new world order," and "This lens kicks butt, takes names, and basically posterizes the manufacturers who make the cameras this lens will fit on."

Below are some images of the internals, but you should hop over to the LensRentals blog and read his post. Cicala, who admittedly hasn't really taken this thing through full paces yet, is seriously jazzed about this lens.

My review copy is set to land in my mailbox on November 27, so look forward to our review in the next week or so as I put it through my own set of rigorous tests.

Looks like a great lens. Its nice to be alerted to what other websites are publishing, but I do miss the original content of old. Hope to see more.

Why not test it on the SD1? I like it better on the SD1.

because nobody is interested in renting the SD1 ?

I had Sigma 85 1.4

Not doing that mistake again. It was a nightmare

It looks like Sigma has changed their approach. You might want to take another look.

Well I got Sigma 35mm 1.4 and 20mm 1.4 for my d810,first they had heavy front focus specially from 1 meter distance and more. After Lens Align system calibration I have very nice sharp images when I focus in a subject which is less than a meter away but more than a meter or 2 is very soft which I expected from a prime lens to be more sharp! I have send my body to Nikon NPS and they checked and said camera is in order and they have checked with Nikon wide angle lenses and focusing is right in body!
I have to check with other friends who has same lens and body or bring it to Sigma to check further!
Any idea or same problem?!
