A Long-Term Look at the Canon EOS R for Video

Many photographers and videographers were not particularly pleased with the Canon EOS R when it was released, with seemingly middling specs and some seemingly arbitrary exclusions. Now that it has been on the market for a while, there has been time to form so more long-term opinions of the camera while taking into account things that can't be quantified by a specs sheet. This great video takes a long-term look at the EOS R for video shooters.

Coming to you from YC Imaging, this excellent video takes a balanced look at the Canon EOS R from a videographer's standpoint after a couple of months with the camera. When it first came out, limitations like the large 4K crop factor made a lot of shooters balk at the camera, particularly when it was near the same price level of cameras such as the Sony a7 III. Nonetheless, it is not all bad with Canon cameras, and there are certain intangibles that a lot of shooters appreciate (such as the menu system and ergonomics), and these can often be enough to overwhelm the drawbacks. If you are wondering if the EOS R is the right camera for you, it's definitely worth watching the video above.

nah

These sound exactly like Canon's talking points that they give to YouTube influencers when providing free cameras. He's parroting the same exact talking points provided by other YouTubers who had mentioned that Canon provided them with a free camera.

the Canon EOS R is a beta version, there may be other beta even more expensive! before becoming a leader on this domain!
