The 70-200mm f/2.8 is a staple lens for many photographers across a wide range of genres, but such lenses are rarely cheap to come by. If you are looking for a more affordable alternative, check out this great review of the new and highly anticipated Tamron 70-180mm f/2.8 Di III VXD lens.
Coming to you from Manny Ortiz, this great video takes a look at the new Tamron 70-180mm f/2.8 Di III VXD lens and compares it to the Sony FE 70-200mm f/2.8 GM OSS lens. Sony's own lenses are generally quite good, but they are certainly not cheap. On the other hand, the Tamron version comes in at less than half the price of its Sony counterpart. On a similar note, the Tamron 28-75mm f/2.8 has been a runaway hit for the company, offering great image quality at a very affordable price, and the 70-180mm f/2.8 completes the trio along with the 17-28mm f/2.8 Di III RXD. If the telephoto zoom is anything like its cousins, Tamron likely has another winner on its hands, giving Sony shooters a great alternative line of f/2.8 zooms. Check out the video above for Ortiz' full thoughts.
