Moment Releases Variable Filters for Professionals

The company has grown, and they're stepping up to serve the professional DSLR and mirrorless shooters with filters made from aerospace-grade quality materials.

There are two different filters, a 2-5 stop (ND4-32) and a 6-9 stop (ND64-512), and they come in the three most common sizes: 67mm, 72mm and 82mm. They use premium glass and say that they've "engineered the rotation of the filter to have hard stops at both ends of the working range, preventing unwanted cross polarization and vignetting," and the metal frames are made from lightweight, space grade aluminum.

What they've added to their filter is the ability to see what stop you're shooting while you're behind the viewfinder. They've laser etched this information onto the filter for easier and faster control during changing lighting conditions.

Prices range from $149 to $169. You can preorder the new filters here.

No mention of FSND or at least IRND glass so I'm assuming just ND which will yield nice and muddy video. Or am I missing something?

It‘s $150. WTF do you want?

Wooooow these are actually affordable.

But are they any good? Their own demonstrative video shows a strong green color cast throughout the frame. it also shows harsh vignetting (which they say their hard stops protect against) in the top corners.

Don't rain on my parade man!!! Let a man dream!!! lol

Nice to have a hard stop, would love to see a comparison.

It seems like I'll be getting the filters soon, and will hopefully be able to test it over the weekend.
