A 35mm lens with a wide aperture is one of the most versatile options out there, suitable for everything from portraits to events coverage and more. This excellent video review takes a look at an affordable option from Sigma, the 35mm f/2 DG DN Contemporary lens.
Coming to you from Hyun Ralph Jeong, this great video review takes a look at the Sigma 35mm f/2 DG DN Contemporary lens, available for both the Sony E mount and Leica L mount. At $639, the 35mm f/2 is quite affordable, and it is rather portable at 11.5 oz (325 g). It also comes with a variety of great features, including:
- One Special Low Dispersion for reduced chromatic aberrations and increased clarity
- Three aspherical elements for reduced distortion and increased sharpness
- Super Multi-Layer Coating for reduced flares and ghosting and increased contrast
- Stepping motor for smooth and quiet autofocus
- Rounded nine-blade diaphragm for smoother bokeh
- Rubber-sealed mount for protection from the elements
- Magnetic lens cap
Altogether, while the 35mm f/1.4 Art and 35mm f/1.2 Art are both fantastic lenses, for those who want a cheaper and/or more affordable option, the 35mm f/2 looks to be a great choice. Check out the video above for Jeong's full thoughts on the lens.
