Schneider (no relation) is up there with Zeiss when it comes to recognized high-quality lenses. This year at NAB (the National Association of Broadcasters tradeshow in Las Vegas), Schneider is adding the 18mm, 25mm and 100mm lenses to its popular Schneider-Kreuznach Xenon FF-Prime family that already includes the 35mm, 50mm and 75mm focal lengths. They are purpose built for digital cinematography with cameras including RED Dragon, Canon C100/C300/C500, Arri Alexa, Sony F5/F55 and HDSLR cameras. They cover the full 45mm image circle usable on Canon 5D Mark III and Nikon D800 cameras. These compact lenses are also designed for 4K and beyond resolution (4096 x 2304 pixels).
Their booth will also feature the Cine Xenar III color-matched PL mount digital cinematography prime lens family, with the newest 14mm T2.2 wide-angle addition.
Keeping announcements rolling, Schneider will also unveil the premier of the new Schneider Optics Wide Angle adapter for the Fujinon 19-90mm Cabrio lens. With an easy on/off design, this non-zoom through adapter expands the lens by 30%.
If you're at NAB, or even just a resident of Las Vegas, you can head over and check these out!
To bad they will cost around 10 grand a piece or more!
Whatever happened to the 28mm f/4.5 PC-TS Super Angulon??? They announced it nearly 2 years ago!?!? I love the 50mm PC-TS but I heard the 28mm was going to launch at nearly $10k!
One of these lenses was on show at The Photography Show in the UK earlier this month. The gent who was the rep mentioned that these are brand new and should be around £2100-£2300 if I remember correctly.
