Three Professional Photography Kits for Under $1,000

We've all heard that gear isn't everything, so here is three professional photography setups for under $1,000.

My relationship with gear has followed a pretty common trajectory, I think: I started off buying cheap and believing I needed expensive gear to create the results I wanted. I then started to buy expensive pieces of gear and most (not all, mind) didn't do much to the quality of my work. Now I'm at a stage — and have been for several years — where I only fork out cash on things that I know create certain results I want, and if they're cheap, all the better for me!

In this video, Andrew and Denae go through three basic kits for (primarily portrait) photographers and there's some interesting stuff in here. I had to embed one of their images they took for this shoot as it's beautiful:

I'm writing an article on a vaguely similar concept, so I won't dive too much into this, but one of the entries on this list — namely the Canon 85mm f/1.8 — is one of the best value lenses I've ever bought.

What do you think? What's the best 2 lens, 1 body setup you could pull together for under $1,000? Share them in the comment section below.

Professional and RP don't go together in the same sentence.

Professional and $1000 kit don't go together either. Professional implies you are making money in your trade and if you don't have a dime to your name you are not a professional.

99% of cameras are professional in the right hands.

Amen!! Best comment I have read in years!
