World's First Solar-Charging Drybox - All In One

Have you ever wanted to go on an adventure with no vehicles, but still be able to carry and use your electronics right through the trip without having to worry about battery life? Soon, we'll be able to use the Rokpak Pioneer Series. It's a waterproof box that uses solar-charged batteries to charge your gear via USB and Micro-USB cables.

It's something I will use, although charging the laptop is not possible. But, looking at the video, it's not the type of trip you'd like to take your laptop on anyway, and it's ideally only for cameras and mobile phones. The fact that it is waterproof is surely beneficial too, and you can have peace of mind going down a white-water rapid. Would love something like this that could charge my 5D3's backup batteries too =) Very cool device. I'll keep my eye out for it.

You could probably pull 12v off a larger panel and regulate it down to 9v with a buck converter (loose less wattage that way) and while I am not sure the amperage you need for that battery to charge it quick it's nothing you cant figure out with a meter your wall charger and a bit of tinkering. Also you can get those $10 chargers off Adorama. I might get busy tearing up some surplus pelican cases later myself.

sorry, 7.2 - 7.4 is canon 5Diii
