First attempt at a photo collage, and I have been quite a moron when presented with design work, thought I've outperformed myself this time, not using a template and everything...But I would need to put this on my portfolio, so please give me some tips & advice if you can!
Thanks in advance.
Sorry Hunter, that's not something I could help you with (never tried it....).
Hey Hunter - well done! This totally works as a exhibit announcement. I love seeing some of my favorites of your past posts here!
From my limited experience in design, I would give these minor suggestions. 1) I'd open up the white space a little more by reducing the size of the side images. Give them a little more framing space. Visualize the area that frames each image and make sure it isn't shared with its neighbor - even if it is just white space between images this rule of thumb will help guide the amount of space that feels right. 2) In a collage, I think you still want a 'headliner' with 'backup singers' 😁. You've got all headliners here! That center image is the anchor. Pull back the size of the side image so that they reenforce the theme set by the main image.
So basically I guess it was one suggestion! Shrink the side images. 😉
Umm...Yeah! I am beginning to see your point here. More white space would certainly make it look a lot cleaner. I am just unsure whether I should let the center image attract most of the attention (being the anchor), because it's probably not the most capable of representing my works of this theme. Anyways, I'll post another comment with more whitespace between the photos :)
Yeah. Here you go: Two different amounts of space (both increased). That helped a lot! Which one do you think is better?
The bottom one. 👍
