Not sure this belongs in this group but I think it could fall under abstract. I'm brand new to macro photography and recently got a 15mm Laowa macro lens. It's really fun to play around with.
This is several hasta plants that are maybe shin high. The wide angle macro capabilities of this lens make the small hasta plants seem huge. Almost like you've been shrunken down into some sort of Alice and Wonderland type world. I think the black and white also gives it cool feel. It looks like it could be a pencil drawing.
Anyways, would love to know what you think.
Unique and eye-catching. I like it a lot.
Thank you!
Excellent!!! I also love it with the sides and bottom cropped.
I agree, there's something cool about everything not being in the frame. I think it adds to the forest like effect.
I love the effect here, Kyle! Just as you say, like a forest and reminiscent of a pencil drawing. The glow through the leaves adds an other-worldly dimension. Something pleasingly crazy about the whole thing. You're very imaginative. Well done!
Thanks Chris! Glad you like it.
Very striking image Kyle, simply surreal. I love the low perspective, it gives the impression of being in a jungle.
I am surprised that your macro lens offers such a large depth of field.
I think the choice of variegated leaf Hostas works well here - I'll have to get down into my own!
BTW - as you were experimenting with a new lens this certainly fits the group :-)
Thanks Alan!
Hi Kyle. Appreciate the order in the chaos. complemented by the contrast and tonality in my opinion. The "blank" spaces can also be filled with continued chaos am sure.
Cheers.
