Barn Life

Just going back through some images I'd taken earlier in the year. This is one I'd taken of a favorite barn - I actually didn't spot the Adirondack chairs in the image until processing. I think they add a little something - do others agree/disagree?

As always, honest feedback is always appreciated. No opinion is wrong, no experience too little.

I would like to see the colour image, Alan. I have a feeling the green of the grass, contrasted against the red of the barn would be striking. And if you got it on a blue bird day, you'd have blue, red, green.

However, the simple, repetitive graphical nature, with the out of place element of the chairs, rendered in B&W works really well.

Funny you should mention that. The very contrast you mention was my motivation to go and shoot this, but the weather conditions were less than ideal.
As you might imagine these tin roofs become a nightmare with the sun beating down on a clear sky day anyway.

Here's the original as requested for comparison

Thanks for that. It is as I expected.

Blue sky in the middle of the day, with a polarizing filter would work a treat, I reckon. You can always exposure bracket for the roof.

That said, the sun low in the sky behind you (without knowing which way this is oriented) would bring out the red.

It's a wonderful subject.

Speaking of barns, if you are not familiar with large format photographer @alexburkephoto (Insta), he's worth checking out.

Thanks William. You have now given me motivation to go back and shoot on a clear day - perhaps when the snow melts in March :-)

I'll check Alex out - thanks for the tip.
