Andrew Williams's picture

ICM GLT

Some of you may be aware that I've spent a lot of time photographing in the wetlands (that are not so wet right now) in the county park between my backyard and the Perkiomen Creek. I have named this park Ground Level Tango (GLT), as opposed to its real name, Central Perkiomen Park.
I have not been out there much for the last two years due to its being fenced off about a third of the way between my house and the creek because of ongoing construction replacing the sewer line running through the park.
Yesterday was really pleasant, so I went out shooting. Harry did not go along. He was napping. We did go for a walk later.

More variations on a theme Andrew. I have to say, there aren't too many parks I know of that boast of a sewer running through them.

I like the flow of the first image. For your second I'd love to see that process applied to s single, isolated tree in place of the dumpster etc. I think that may produce such an interesting image.

FWIW, the original sewer line was already there years before Montgomery County made this part of their park system. I think it had something to do with my development's commitment to "open space" forty years ago. The current project is an upgrade/replacement of a very old system as there has been a lot of development here since the seventies as this has changed from a small town out in the country to a Philadelphia suburb.

Also, the point of the dumpster photograph was to let the county officials know it was still there, along with a second one a few hundred feet farther away. They floated downstream from a Ford dealer when Hurricane Ida's floodwaters reached their roofline. (Roughly 25 feet over flood stage.) We were promised at the time they would be removed in a few days which clearly did not happen.

That's an interesting back story, Andrew.
