This Camera Got Wet, Too

We recovered the newest trailcam yesterday and to my delight, it did not die. This was a different brand with a rubber gasket that probably made the difference even though this camera, like the two dead ones, had an IP66 rating. After some searching, I was only able to find one IP67 and zero IP-68 trailcams at any price.

There were 650 images on the SD card. The first and final few were taken before and after any flooding. These included pictures of me and my neighbor, who goes with me in case I fall or need other help, deer, foxes, and egrets. Individually, nothing was interesting about the images, so I created this composite with some of the birds and animals.

507 were taken when the water had partially receded. I loaded them all into Photoshop as separate layers, used the auto-blend function in Photoshop, and then merged them to Produce #2, which created the same effect as shown in my previous post. This did not make me happy. After undoing the auto-blend, I reduced the opacity of all the layers until I got the glassy #3 at 3%.

You might want to check out the addendum to my previous post to see what this changed technique did to that day's images.

I love the composite idea of the critters! Great idea. Another good read. I appreciate being able to follow along with you on this.
