Remembering an Old Friend ~ Feasibility Study

I was looking out the sliding glass door the other morning at dark o'clock and I really liked the reflection of the interior lights on the dark outdoors.

Of course that made me think... how can I work with this?

First attempt and I think the light is too intense as it bleeds onto the not-so-black black backdrop.

This required very minute (diminutive, not time) adjustments to capture the reflection at the best possible angle.

I think it was feasible. Gave me an idea. I've been trying to find some new ideas to try with the weather being really yucky outside (fog and so much rain). Thanks for the inspiration.

You are most welcome my friend. That's why I like to include behind-the-scenes photo as it is faster than trying to explaining it with verbiage.

Be sure to post your results of whatever this inspired.

So we're not the only ones with crappy weather!
Being at a loss myself today I tried a few experiments myself - perhaps I'll post before the end of month deadline.

I love this idea and creativity Dean, and of course we all appreciate you sharing your methods.
Do you have plans on expanding this in any way? Seems like it might work with other subjects.

I am thinking of a wall with a small door opening on black paper. The tall minion would be outside and the small inside. Scene is backlit for the light to stream through the doorway.

Working on other thought projects currently. It was the January challenge that got me onto an idea I've never tried before...stay tuned.
