Dark portraits
I like portraits more with a dark background, what's your opinion?

I really like these especially the first two, the one of the guy on his own I think is the best of the bunch....though it might benefit from a slightly tighter crop, as cropping off at the wrists looks not quite right.....but good expression and mood.
I think as long as you separate the subject from the background enough by any lighting means necessary, it'll look great. Your 3 images here is doing that. The 3rd is my favorite.
