YouTuber Mocks Travel Influencers for Romanticizing Mundane Locations in New Parody Video

An Australian YouTuber has put together a parody video mocking travel influencers, poking fun at those who post photos with faceless boyfriends, against mountains they didn’t climb, and changing outfits during hikes to look as Insta-worthy as possible.

Australian YouTuber Currently Hannah partnered with her friend Just Jess to create the video:

You don’t need a storyline to make your travels look epic. All you need is a voiceover and a soft, airy voice, and with the right dramatic pauses… it’ll sound inspirational. I’ve learnt that all you need are shots of yourself walking along the beach in a flowy outfit, leading your faceless boyfriend places: places like untouched waterfalls, pristine rice fields, mountains I didn’t climb, and blue-ass water.

The first three minutes are the parody clip, followed by Hannah explaining why she decided to make the video. She herself admits she is guilty of some of the things mentioned in her video. It’s a tongue-in-cheek stab at the most frequent tricks we’ve seen repeatedly in travel and influencer photos and videos on platforms like Instagram. She makes particular reference to the sexual nature of many photos, to the lack of content showing the negatives involved with traveling the globe.

It got me to thinking, I don't know why, about the landscape photographer guy doing his video about trudging around in the chilly mist over in the Faroe Islands.

How the heck she can fake the yank accent?

Actors/actresses/singers do it all time. Just off the top of my head, the character Rick Grimes (Andrew Lincoln) from The Walking Dead. I would have never known in a million years the dude is from the UK.

This clip sums it all up. https://youtu.be/iqUMgrIQdEg

Any competent English person who watches enough American TV can fake an American accent. I do it all the time and Americans take guesses at which state I'm from lol.

I like it. Pretty good production.

Typical Aussie sense of humour - Loved it :)
