Are You Trying Too Hard With Your Photography?

With all the technical control, skills, and creative thought that go into making photos, there is a fine balance between not trying enough and forcing things. Sometimes, you end up trying just a bit too hard, and it can be a rather frustrating experience. That is when it is a good idea to step back, return to basics, and remember to enjoy yourself a bit.

Coming to you from First Man Photography, this awesome video discusses the problem of trying too hard. This is a trap almost all of us have fallen into at one point or another, and though it is quite frustrating, it can be difficult to realize it is happening in the moment. However, that is the point at which you should stop attempting to force a photo into existence. That is not to say you should pack in your camera and go home; rather, you should just rework your approach just a bit. Return to the basics and find the enjoyment of the experience again, and you might be pleasantly surprised. Check out the video above for the full rundown.
