My tour through Great Britain gave me everything I could wish and hope for, and I came away with one of my favorite collections of images.
Because of research, I knew what I was going into, but I was still surprised by just how beautiful England is. To me, it is obvious why most famous landscape photography YouTubers are from Britain. Collectively, I spent 21 days in Britain, where 8 days were spent in England, 8 days in Scotland, 3 days in Wales, and 2 days to visit family and friends. Arguably, you hardly need to have a plan if you want to do landscape photography England. Just take a drive through the countryside or along the coast, and you will find spectacular landscapes to explore and photograph.
We started out in southern England, and immediately, the beautiful and old countryside excited me for what was in store. Before heading towards the north, we spent three days in Wales. I had made a good plan to follow with many locations I found to be interesting to photograph. Everything from the white cliffs along the shore, through old monuments like Stonehenge, to the beautiful national parks was on the table. I had also included a lot of buffer time as to be able to aim for the most optimal weather in accordance with my previsualized ideas.
It is also important to note that I do spend quite a lot of time in Photoshop polishing my photos optimizing them in accordance with my vision and style.

Before going to England, I hadn't seen any "artsy" photos of Blackchurch Rock. To me, it was a no-brainer to visit this fantastic sea stack.
Durdle Door is probably one of the most famous arches in all of England. Here, I have caught the last light along the Jurassic Coast.
We spent the entire evening at Durdle Door watching as the moon rose above the cliffs.
Old Harry Rocks has become a treasured location for drone photography. The iconic white rocks along the Jurassic coast can give some dramatic perspectives. This morning was very special to as I got exactly what I had envisioned with the fog in the background.
Stonehenge was a must-see for me as I have always been into the history of astronomy. I did not expect much in regard to photography as this is one of the most visited locations in England outside of London. I did however manage to catch this halo above the stone circle giving off a feeling of ancient times.
Scaleber Force Waterfall in Yorkshire Dales were one of those small locations I just wanted to check out. Little did I know I got one of my favorite photos from England. With a shutter speed of half a second, I managed to show both movement and the texture of the water.
Castlerigg stone circle in the Lake District was another must-visit for me. I had almost given up getting a good photo here, but then one of the few holes in the clouds let the suns light shine through and light up the stones.
At the lone tree along the shore of Buttermere in the Lake District, a massive shower hit us. Despite having water creeping in through my wellies and down my neck I managed to line up the tree with the clouds and got one of my favorite images from my entire tour of Great Britain. On a funny side note, the locals do not know about this tree, it is only famous within the landscape photography community.
Our last morning in the Lake District delivered with beautiful sunrise at Kelly Hall Tarn near Torver.
During our very last morning in England, we went to Chrome Hill as I had predicted we would probably get some fog. We were a bit in over our heads as the entire surrounding landscape drowned in fog. Luckily, we met a group of other photographers who could work as my foreground, while they were photographing the intimate details popping out of the fog.
When the fog lifted, I managed to get this fresh morning photo of the landscape. A perfect way to end our tour through Britain.

#5. Like the leading line of the silky smooth waves to the cliff. I would recommend flipping the image (to see how it looks) as our brains prefer leading lines from the left side. Thanks for sharing!

Do we really need photography to “prove” that England is beautiful? If I were Brit I’d be offended by that statement.
