Shooting portraits on location is a fantastic way to add some drama to your shots or to use the surrounding environment to complement your subject and to tell a story. If you would like to improve your lighting and portraiture, check out this fantastic video tutorial that will show you how one photographer lit, posed, and shot a series of pin-up portraits using four different lighting setups.
Coming to you from Eli Infante with Westcott Lighting, this great video tutorial will show you four different lighting setups for a variety of different pin-up portraits. Shooting on location is a wonderful way to really expand your creativity, but the flip side of that is that the logistics are a bit more complicated. This means that photographers will often elect to simplify their equipment a bit, meaning they will often revert to using just a single light. However, as you will see, you can still create professional portraits with just a single light, and they make it easier to work in a fluid manner. Check out the video above for the full rundown from Infante.

I like this series because they didn’t overdo the flash power. When I saw the thumbnail I thought it might be natural light.
Thanks, Lee Morris. I appreciate it! Thanks for sharing :)
I do have friends who own some more than 3 lights.
Been shooting professionally for more than a decade and never owned more than 1 light no ever bought a reflector etc.
I just observe the available light then position my single light in the opposite to balance using light modifiers when needed.
Couldn't be happier with the results every time so are my clients.
Fun fact, am considering buying additional light but not anytime soon.
