Are You Properly Organizing Your Images?

Even after just a few years of photography, your Lightroom catalog will likely have ballooned to several thousand images, and as such, it is crucial to put thought, time, and effort into how your images are organized so that you can work with them as needed. This helpful video tutorial features an experienced photographer sharing his system and offering a wealth of useful advice for keeping your Lightroom catalog neat and tidy.

Coming to you from Nigel Danson, this awesome video tutorial will show you how he approaches organizing his extremely large Lightroom catalog. Organizing your photos can be a pretty tedious and boring task, and it can be easy to ignore it in favor of other things, but if you put in the time to do it, there will come a day when you need to track down an image and you will be really thankful you kept your collection tidy. This is especially important if you are doing professional work, as it is not uncommon for clients to email you months or even years after a shoot desperately looking for copies of their photos after they accidentally deleted or misplaced them. Check out the video above for the full rundown from Danson.

Really nice to hear how you organize you files Nigel!
You cannot have your catalogue on a nas or other network drive, as you say. But you can have it in your Dropbox-folder and reach it from multiple computers if you want.

Nigel used to have a good channel, but I quit watching a long time ago, and this video illustrates why; his videos now target the newbie, which I find utterly boring.
