Eastern amberwing dragonfly

200mm · f/8 · 1/2000 · ISO 1000

I was photographing butterflies and bees in my garden when I noticed this tiny dragonfly perched on a dried flowerhead. At less than an inch long, I thought it was a juvenile, but a quick internet search revealed that this species only grows to about an inch. I just love the pose, the colors and the detail I was able to capture.
