It's high time for the hummingbird migration in my part of the U.S. I had a plan to capture some of them in flight as they fed on the flowers at my local nature sanctuary, but the hummingbirds had other ideas.
No matter how still I stayed or for how long, none of them would fly close enough to photograph. I had to "settle" for this photo of one taking a quick break between feedings.
The light, the color and the natural framing inside the loop of the branch all came together for me in this shot and I felt fortunate to capture this brief but beautiful moment.
