This is one of my images of Corn Lily or False Hellebore (V. californicum). For my photography sessions with this plant I identify three stages: Initial germination, where the plant resembles an artichoke in shape, the second stages is when it twists and unfolds its leaves, and finally its growth to full maturity. It is during the second stage that the plant creates some of the most beautiful shapes.
