The Illuminated Minaret of Jama Masjid in the holy month of Ramadhan. Built by the Mughal emperor Shah Jahan, this iconic 350 year old mosques is the largest in India, carved out of a Redstone hill. Similar to the Taj Mahal, the two 130 feet high minarets of the mosque is rich in geometric patterns, arches, and balconies constructed entirely of Redstone and Marble. On the onset of Ramadhan, the mosque and minarets are decorated with festival lights (tungsten lights), creating a warmth embrace of spirituality. Recently these lights have been replaced by flat led lights, greatly reducing the radiance of the glow.
