Wonders of the World!

Of all of my photo`s... this is it. This is in my own opinion the best photography I have taken. I drove here, from Oslo Norway. To photograph this. The place if you don`t know about it, think doesn`t exist! That is is fake a.i... It`s something from the Lord of the Rings or similar. But it very well exists. At the beaches of Normandy, all the way west in France, lies the most unbelievable architectural Wonder, the Mont Saint Michel! This is from my close to 6000Km road trip to photograph Europe. Well.. parts of Europe :) This, was my main goal, after driving through Sweden, Denmark, Germany, Luxenbourg, Belgium and finally France. And home through the Netherlands also. Actually my first visit to Paris France by plane, a few years back, this was of course also my main goal. But it was impossible to get transportion there. All trains and bus tickets sold out.. for the whole week I was in Paris. That was devastating for my photo plan and a huge bummer. So this time I took my car. to be sure.. I arrived at night.. after days of driving.. no roadlights here, just dark.. enormous open flat areas everywhere. A very slight beginning of light appeared at the horizon of the Atlantic sea. I was scouting for it, in the distance.. didn`know the direction.. suddenly, far out in the ocean sandbanks, I could barely se something.. a silhouette.. something large.. something very big.. something unreal! Something that doesn`t belong in such a place.. how come... something this large with nothing else close.. I got goosebumps and my hair rasied on my fingers.. The building of Mont Saint Michel started in 500`s, and has been developed until the 1400`s. It is a tidal island, where the tidal comes in faster than you can run! And there is a lot of quicksand, so it`s no joke to try to photograph from exiting angles. At the tidal the whole area is quickly covered by the sea with an incease of the water hight by 45 feet! I shot close to 200 photo`s. All with terrible lightning conditions unfortunately. So many of the photo`s I chose to go B&W.
