I don't shoot wildlife very often... mostly due to lack of patience, or so I thought. This location had tons of puffins zipping around and I thought it would be alot easier than it was to catch an image like this.
While I did get several, they also resulted in an absolute ton of missed shots, blurry, missed focus, cropped weird, too many distractions. I have no idea how people got great shots in the film days... so much respect to them.
Sprinkled in with an enormous amounts of failure were a few I came away happy with and by the end of the 2 hours I was there I did feel like I was starting to get the idea (somewhat) but still felt like riding a bicycle with training wheels on.
All that said, what a fun place to be at and spend time photographing them. If it wasn't so windy/cold I would've stayed longer.
Shot at 400mm and cropped about halfway in.
