Into the Light

Inspired by the lighting of classic Hollywood portraiture, I wanted to create something that felt timeless rather than nostalgic. Hard, directional light shapes her face while the rest is allowed to disappear into shadow. For me, the photograph is as much about what the light doesn't reveal as what it does.
