A small bird resting alone among the thin stems and winter growth. I deliberately kept the composition spare and worked the photograph in black and white with added texture, allowing much of the detail to fall away. What interested me wasn't simply the bird, but the stillness around it.
There are times when the world doesn't have to become quiet for us to find some quiet of our own.
