American Black Bear in North Eastern North Carolina. It was a early rise to get to the refuge in time. The morning golden hour at the right time of the year has produced for me some of my best shots. The sun was just up enough to outline the bear with the shadows in the background. This shot was lover exposed with a high ISO to bring out some details in the young bear's face.

Lake Mattamuskeet by chance?
Close, a little westward. Just outside of Hyde County, in Washington County
You're in my neck of the woods. I live in Hertford but go to Mattamuskeet as well as Pea Island. I didn't realize that Mattamuskeet had gators. I photographed one there at dusk about a month ago.... Keep shooting...
