The sun rises behind Mesa Arch at Canyonlands National Park. The arch is well known for the vibrant orange glow on its underside at sunrise and so is a very popular destination for landscape photographers and tourists alike. This particular morning, there were too many hazy clouds low on the horizon for the arch to glow when the sun broke the horizon and many people gave up and left. I waited it out though and was rewarded when the sun rose above the clouds and passed behind the line of the arch, giving quite the show to those few of us that remained.

Glad yyou stuck it out! I'm often amazed with many so called "Photographer(s)" these days. They show up at these world renown locations to "capture" nearly the same photo, and whether or not if it happens they clear out at a specific time ... on to the next location or to catch their flight home. Lack of patience to tight of a schedule who knows! Not the type of photography I learned nor do I choose to practice.
Beautiful picture! Well done!
