The Dead Sea is gradually shrinking while the surface level drop of more than a 1m (3ft) a year.
Following this decrease in water level, more and more of underground basins start to pop out near the shoreline.
This picture shows one of many shapes in the mud which are created by the new streams of fresh water constantly flowing from the basins into the sea.
