FS reader Luke Avery just sent this video over to us and it's a great one. Check out all the work that goes into creating this 1 minute ad. The second video is the finished product.
Although this is well done, time freeze is sorta becoming cliche. Go to YouTube and search for "time freeze Matrix effect" Lots and lots of amateur videos.
Ok this was the best one yet! Where can I get a job connecting cables for these guys :-) I worship the ground that you shoot on...or in this case water :-) JUST AWESOME!
that's a much better use of bullet effect and way more creative editing.
Rip Curl and surfers should have a look at other extreme sports movies, they will discover there is loads of creativity aroun them too.
Very cool but I still want to know how Andy Gordon does it with only two cameras and After Effects like this http://www.hadlowpro.com . There are 3 videos on that link that have 2 camera bullet-time effects throughout that are amazing.
@Anthony Andy Gordon's video @ http://www.hadlowpro.com is the best! Thanks for providing the link. They kiteboard at the HB cliffs, but I ain't never seen anything like this - WOW.
@ Lee This belongs on the front page. No BTS ... but who cares when the video is this good.
I agree that bullet-time video is getting to be cliched, however, I have to admire the amount of work that was put into concepting, setting up, shooting and then editing something like this.
How do you make those cameras focus continuously at the subject? When the camera is hand held, we might use AI SERVO but how/what software is used in this case to keep the cameras focussing perfectly all the time?

wow so cool
I want an array of 52 cameras
Maybe for our next contest we can give a 52 camera array away ;)
@mike, you don't need a lot of cameras, just a lot of friends. I posted this on 9-18-10 http://fstoppersforum.com/showthread.php?544-See-You-Around-Lomo-Matrix…

Here's a video from the Nikon 360 rig (48 D700) at the 2009 MTV Movie Awards http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DfcY0PgpH6k&feature=fvw
So if you are going to do a time freeze movie/video it has to be beyond superior!

pretty weak result for such a big set and budget.
Have a look at what those guys do:

I have a question.
