For anyone that would love to start learning photography but doesn't have the means to invest in equipment, this is the perfect place to begin.
One of the biggest questions I get asked by friends and family is what camera they should get to start learning photography. I tell them they already own it, and it's right in their pocket! Camera phones are so good today that you might not even be able to tell something was shot with a phone; you can even do a bikini shoot with one! You shouldn't hesitate to start learning photography just because you don't have an expensive camera body and four lenses.
Children are a perfect example of learning with whatever you have access to and not worrying about what you don't. Spending time with my relatives, I've noticed my two cousins who are now 11 and 9 years old stealing their parents phones to take photos. That access has enabled one of them, who now owns her own iPod Touch, to learn photography. She's recording video, creating highlight reels, and editing photos all on the same device. Can you imagine being 11 years old and having a camera as good as the one on your phone? That's the world children are growing up in, and it's absolutely incredible.
The accessibility of photography is the highest it's ever been, and it will continue to grow because of advances in technology. You don't need any fancy equipment to start getting your feet wet, and phone photography can be extremely rewarding even for the most advanced photographer. Stop making excuses and go shoot!
