Canon has launched the Canon Student Professional Services (CPS) program, a free membership initiative aimed at supporting and mentoring student photographers and videographers. The program provides a variety of benefits to help students refine their skills and make a smoother transition from academic training to professional careers.
The program is available to qualified students aged 18 and above who can provide proof of enrollment. Canon's Student CPS program offers a range of support services, typically reserved for full-time professionals, including expedited repairs, discounts on services, and a dedicated support hotline. The goal is to help students maintain their gear and develop their skills without the typical hurdles that come with accessing expert assistance.
Student CPS Program Benefits
- Exclusive purchase offers through the Canon Online Store
- Free Canon Maintenance Service for up to two products per year
- 10% discount on repairs for up to two products per year
- Expedited service within 3-5 business days
- Free return shipping for items sent to Canon’s service facilities
Jason Fligman, Senior Vice President of Service Strategy & Support at Canon U.S.A., Inc., commented on the program's objectives, saying: "This membership program not only supports students in their higher education interests and pursuits, but also opens doors to opportunities that may have otherwise seemed out of reach. By providing this level of access, at no cost, through our new Student CPS program, Canon is helping to inspire and proactively shape the future of the imaging field."
In addition to technical services, the Student CPS program offers a Photography Mentorship hotline. This service connects students directly with industry professionals to discuss imaging or gear-related questions. Members also receive support at select industry events and trade shows.
