Fstoppers and Movember: Help Us Change the Face of Men's Health

For those of you who don't know what Movember is, Movember (the month formerly known as November) is a mustache growing charity event held during November each year that raises awareness and funds for men's health. Fstoppers like Lee Morris, Blair Bunting, Mike Wilkinson, Dave Geffin and I are part of team Mo'Rice Lacroix Team USA. Will you lend your support?

WHAT IT IS:

Which ever way we look at it, men are far less healthy than women. The average life expectancy for men is five years less than females.

While growing a Mo (moustache) is left to the guys, Mo Sistas (ladies who support their guys or love Mo's!) form an important part of Movember by recruiting Mo Bros, helping to raise funds and attending the highly anticipated Gala Partés.

The obvious question is why?

The answer is because men lack awareness about the very real health issue they face, have an attitude that they have to be tough - "a real man" and are reluctant to see a doctor about an illness or to go for regular medical checks.

The aim of Movember is to change these attitudes, make male health fun by putting the Mo (moustache) back on the face of fashion and in the process raise some serious funds for men's health issues.

THE DEALIO:

Look, we are more concerned about raising awareness for prostate cancer, testicular cancer and mental health. To that end, we want to get as many people to sign up as possible, as each person that signs up will be one more that will know about the cause.

You don't need to grow a mustache, you don't need to raise money, and both sexes are welcome, and urged, to join up.

Again, it is not a guys only thing: There are Mo Bros and Mo Sistas, both are equally important to us.

FUN STUFF:

Our team is sponsored by Swiss Watchmaker Maurice Lacroix, and we will be giving a watch away to the person that raises the most money for Movember (it is the orange Pontos S and number 7 / 11 valued at $4,000 USD). If the top person raises $100 they will still get the watch as awareness and team size is most important.

In addition, we'll be posting updates of our facial hair (which is sure to be entertaining) to our Movember team page, so make sure you check it out, as you won't want to miss the hairy glory.

I leave you with these mustache-themed videos that are nothing short of amazing:

Still here? You really should be at the joining point by now.
