Polly

The first weekend studio session of 2018 was a lens and technique test. (Good lens, poor technique) Nikon's incredible 105mm f1.4 is a lens I can't really afford to buy but a very cheap weekend hire was a no-brainer.
At f2 My expectations were managed with the knowledge that more than half my shots would probably be out of focus so I just pressed on. Yes I also shot at f8 like everyone else, but the ultra shallow depth of field, which can be reproduced at post in photoshop was my target in camera. I used my D800 which is a perfect match for this lens along with a single SB900 above centre.
To be honest, a camera phone and a torch would get favorable results with Polly.
