VULNERABLE

A owe a great deal of thanks to my colleague Jo. My intended sitter had to cancel at the last minute which left a booked, planned and organised shoot without a subject. I scanned the office from my chair for several minutes before making my bold move across the room and put the request to Jo. I didn't have a theme at such sort notice so I literally stripping back the shoot to it's barest of elements and put my idea to her. She obviously hesitated but after a short consideration agreed. The shot above is called 'vulnerable' because the situation I was putting Jo in and not forgetting she is a colleague not a model. The effect is emphasised by the cool colours and the pulled back crop of the image which would normally be cropped as a close up vertical shot. For those interested I used my trusted very second hand D800, a used SB900 above through umbrella fired using line of sight pop up.
