The Red Squirrel is fairly rare in the UK and are limited to a few select locations, mostly in Northern England and Scotland. This was taken in Whinlatter Forest in the Lake District.
They are far more timid then the non-native grey and I was very fortunate to be rewarded for my hour sitting in a shady spot in the forest.
